I've been very busy since the books arrived, sending them here and there, preparing the pieces of a press packet, practicing reading aloud, signing books for friends. But the most exciting thing I've been working on is an extension of the
website.
The bookmarks I give away at readings will have passwords on them that access a deeper layer of the website where there are three new sections. One is called Questions, and it is just that, a series of book-related questions for discussion, study, or thought. The next is Answers, a list of Frequently Asked Questions with their answers. And the third section is Wisdom, a compilation of proverbs, quotations, and teaching stories.
In time, there will be a scavenger hunt which requires close reading of both the website and the book itself.
Once the first half of the objects in the hunt are found, access to the next level of the website is granted. At that level there will be a message board. Visitors can take part in discussions about the book, and even give and receive hints about where the remaning objects in the scavenger hunt can be found.
When the scavenger hunt is completed, access to the deepest layer will be given. That level will contain a wiki about the book's secrets. What are those secrets? You will have to wait for the website to be complete to know!
