The badger brush

Recently we discovered the joy of using a badger brush to polish up the chocolate before packaging it. As far as I can tell, this great little brush is made of actual badger hair! Actually, badger brushes aren't that uncommon. They're part of those old-fashioned shaving kits with the cup and the strop and the straight edge razor. Ours looks more like a paint brush, and it works miraculously well. Shiny chocolate! Hurray!

More chocolate

Yesterday Tom and I worked from 9 AM to after midnight. (Today we're both exhausted!) We made almost every kind of truffle on our order form and the ones we didn't get to we'll do tomorrow. I've been making truffle mandalas, as I planned, and they're very popular.

There are a bunch of truffle pictures on my Flickr pages.

Chocolate-covered coffee beans

Mmm!

Monday, December 05, 2005

Oh my!

As these things go, the minute Mercury went direct the chocolate started flying off the shelves. Sunday we were at a local church and I had to go back to the bakery for more chocolate four times! By the end of the day we were flat out of the Spirit collection and bittersweet bars. It's exciting to have the chocolate move so quickly and such rapid sales means that it will always be fresh, but oh my!

If you are thinking of getting chocolate from us for Christmas, I hope you'll all order soon. I can only imagine how busy we'll be as Christmas draws nearer!

Packaging

I've been having fun designing new packaging for the chocolate.
